Laura’s Blog Update No. 10

Brussels. I’ve struck up an email friendship with Carol Kaye.  She is 74 and seems like just about the coolest person on earth.

We enjoyed a packed afternoon show in Amsterdam yesterday and an evening walk along the canals.  This morning Nelson saw a seagull drop a sausage on a poor biker’s head (and no one wears helmets in Amsterdam).  Now we’re in Brussels and just took a tour of the jaw-dropping Grand Square.  We’re off to the instrument museum in the morning and then Koln…

Love that Carol Kaye got in touch, and also love the seagull story – there’s a song in there somewhere!

If you’re in Köln you should definitely check out the Japanese store called Muji and you should all so have a look at the inspiring windows by Gerard Richter in the Dom. But probably you’ll be to busy making the greatest music. Enjoy it.

Well miss Veirs, thank you so much for taking the detour from Lille to Brussels via Amsterdam (all in one country until around the beginning of the 18th century, so you were a little bit right about the country you mentioned).

I enjoyed your concert very much, but you owe me (owe us) the completion of a promise you made in Paradiso. You said that that particular audience were the best Ooher/aahers in To the country sofar and that you would mention it in your blog. I did not do so in my blog, to give you the opportunity for a scoop!

And even if you don’t, I still enjoy July Flame and many others!

Kind regards and hope to see you again.

Hey Laura, thanks for a great concert. I wrote an entry about it on my blog, hope you appreciate the feedback : http://hhg2life.blogspot.com/2010/02/laura-veirs-in-concert.html

@jelle de Boer : sorry, but i’m sure the Brussels’ crowd were better Ooher/aahers than those in Paradiso. And even if we weren’t, I’m sure we’ll be better than the Germans :) although they might beat us at hand-clapping LOL

@ Frank: I know, the belgian audience is more than good. I saw Wilco twice (Brussels and Gent) and I felt Flamish in a way!!!!!! Oh, what a crowd.

Hope to return soon, love Belgium.
